Eyes wide angel

Don't fall asleep now

not even love

can keep these nightmares out

The Stretch

I wish t-t-time would skip a beat
Just to bring you closer to me
Instead of this trembling heart
Hesitating at the drop of every start
Absence makes the heart grow weaker
However fond it may seem
Stretching out the breadth of time
Forcing distance in between

The Green

The portal to my mind
Words like vines
Slip between tongue and teeth
Echoing silence instead of leaves
Finding the truth within the green
Harder to find than can be seen

The Binding

My hands refuse to still
Too fragile now to write you poetry
My walls are paper thin and crumbling
I can hardly breathe when I think of you and me
My heart refuses to keep time
I'm bound within my anxiety
Repeating mantras in my head
"I know that we are meant to be"

Breaking Point

Open mouthed and aching
No breath will come
Cracked lips refuse to speak
Tears will not cease
Eyes locked against the onslaught
Mind negating perception
Heart wavering
Failing

Half Life

How could you leave me here

To live this half life

If I could just breath your life into me

Maybe these nights wouldn't get so lonely

Because I need you here

These pills they don't bring you to me

But they keep me fighting day to day

Without you

They don't take away the pain

But they're the only thing that keeps

Me from giving up

You're the only reason I still have hope

You're my only reason

The Better Part of You

Bearing the weakness you build in your mind
Hiding the love of the stars in your eyes
You're not allowed to break down and cry
Knowing if you let yourself feel you will die
